We took the participants through three levels of card sort in increasing levels of difficulty.

  • First we broke the ice using pop culture cards. People took to it with as much gusto as we had hoped. This helped us quickly set the scene and get our participants familiar with the process.


  • Next, we did an open card sort and this time we brought the conversation back to experience design, but with the task of assembling the perfect xerox machine. Many struggles later, we drove the point home.

  • Lastly, we brought the conversation round to UX design and planted it firmly in the website navigation realm. This we used a digital card sort, using a tool called Optimal Workshop and gathered user insights in real time.
